Os maiores peixes do mundo nadam at\u00e9 \u00e0 superf\u00edcie para se aquecerem, depois de mergulharem durante longos per\u00edodos a profundidades frias de centenas de metros.<\/p>\n

Um novo estudo efectuado na Austr\u00e1lia com quatro tubar\u00f5es-baleia, Rhincodon typus<\/em>, demonstrou que os peixes passam, em m\u00e9dia, cerca de 2,5 horas \u00e0 superf\u00edcie, depois de fazerem mergulhos muito profundos e longos durante o dia, para al\u00e9m dos mergulhos mais curtos e pouco profundos que fazem durante o dia e a noite.<\/p>\n

“Quando analis\u00e1mos os nossos dados, descobrimos que os tubar\u00f5es-baleia<\/a> passavam intervalos regulares \u00e0 superf\u00edcie entre as sess\u00f5es de mergulho”, afirmou a investigadora principal do estudo, Michele Thums, da Universidade da Austr\u00e1lia Ocidental, num comunicado de imprensa.<\/p>\n
